Cliff, my step-dad, didn't make the trip with my mom to MN because he wanted us to have a girls weekend. He was super excited to have another grand baby and to meet him in the summer when he and my mom came back for the birth.
Unfortunately, Ethan will not get to meet this grandpa as Cliffy (as I called him) unexpectedly passed away from a heart attach the day after my mom got back to Oregon. It was a huge shock to everyone and we miss him dearly. He taught us that life is short and to truly live everyday to the fullest. Sometimes this means putting off the to do list in order to spend time with those you love.
Jereme and I flew back to Oregon for about a week to spend time with my mom, help her through this, and attend the memorial service. There were about 300 people at the service and this just shows how many life's Cliffy had touched over the years. He will truly be missed.
